How to play

Find the four-fruit code

Discover the hidden sequence of four fruit symbols within ten guesses. Choose from six fruit types, and use the same fruit more than once if you want. Fill all four slots, then use Check guess; the order matters as much as which fruit you choose.

Read the two pin counts

A solid pin counts a correct fruit in the correct slot. A hollow pin counts a correct fruit in a different slot. Pins describe totals for the whole guess, not particular slots. Each hidden fruit occurrence can count only once.

Count repeated fruit carefully

If the code has one mango and your guess has two, at most one of those mangoes earns a pin. Exact-slot matches count first; the remaining fruits then supply wrong-slot matches. Find all four positions to win. After the last unsuccessful guess, the code is revealed.

Strategy

Make a guess answer something

Sample several fruits early, then use the feedback to test a specific possibility. Repeating a fruit can help establish how many copies belong in the code, but repeating an unchanged guess gives you the same counts again.

Separate presence from position

A hollow pin says a fruit belongs somewhere else, without identifying which guessed fruit earned it. Compare the total pin count before deciding what to move. Keep several possible arrangements in mind until a later guess distinguishes them.

About the game

A code made of fruit

Six familiar fruit silhouettes replace letters and vocabulary. The small feedback pins keep the mystery in the counts rather than labelling each answer slot. This version permits repeated symbols, so careful matching of copies is part of the puzzle.
