Crate Trail

Getting your game ready…

How to play

Push each crate home

Guide the gecko to push a crate onto every marked destination. Walk into one to push it a square if the space beyond is free. Push only one at a time; you cannot pull. Use arrows, WASD or the direction buttons.

Count your steps

Each legal step counts as a move; pushing also adds one push. A blocked attempt adds neither. Crates on destinations can still move. Finish when every crate occupies a destination. There is no clock or points total.

Explore eight trails

Choose any of eight layouts. Undo or Z takes back a move, including after a clear. Restart restores that layout with zero counts. Next level continues after a clear. Completion and your lowest moves and pushes are saved separately.

Strategy

Check the corners first

A crate in a corner cannot leave. Check whether that corner is its destination before pushing. Ask where you will stand for the following push too: the crate needs space ahead, and you need a route behind it.

Keep the walking route open

Placing one crate can block the way around another. Work backwards from the destinations to decide which needs a narrow passage first. If your plan closes the route, Undo and try a different order.

About the game

Eight original packing paths

Fixed layouts make each clearing a puzzle you can revisit. Fewer steps and fewer pushes are different aims: a longer walk may put you in position for a better push.
