Jungle Drive

Getting your game ready…

How to play

Gas, brake and balance

Hold Gas or the right arrow to drive, and Brake or the left arrow to slow down or back up; A and D work too, and so does holding either half of the road. The pedals also tip the jeep: gas lifts the nose and brake dips it. On the ground that gives you wheelies; in the air it turns the whole jeep, so use it to come down on both wheels.

Fuel, endings and points

The engine burns fuel all the time, and faster with a pedal down. Drive through a mango to fill the tank. A run ends when the driver's head touches the ground, the jeep gets stuck on its tail, side or roof, or the tank runs dry and the jeep rolls to a stop. You score a point for every metre, 50 for each full flip you land on your wheels, and 10 a second for any jump of over a second that you land on your wheels.

Strategy

Ease off over the top

Most crashes start on a crest. Lift off the gas as you go over the top of a hill so the nose stops rising, and tap Brake in the air if the jeep tips back. Landing with the nose pointing down the slope keeps your speed and saves the suspension a hard thump.

Speed is fuel

Mangoes sit further apart the further you go, so the tank becomes the real limit. Keep your momentum on the way down instead of braking, and climb steep slopes with steady gas rather than a sudden wheelie. With an empty tank the pedals do nothing, but a downhill is not the end yet: a long coast can still reach the next mango.

About the game

One bouncy road

Jungle Drive follows the side-view hill driving made popular by Fingersoft's Hill Climb Racing: a jeep on springy suspension, a fuel gauge and a road that never ends. The road is the same every time, so you can learn its hills, and it grows steeper and bumpier the further you get. The flag beside the road marks your longest drive.
