Vine Cut

Getting your game ready…

How to play

Cut, swing, feed the monkey

Swipe across a vine to cut it, or simply tap it. The mango reacts straight away: with one vine gone it swings on the others, and with none left it drops. Get it into the monkey’s mouth to clear the level. On a keyboard, the number keys cut vines; each vine shows its number once you start pressing keys. R restarts the level and P pauses.

Pods, bubbles, rings and thorns

Tap an air pod to puff the mango along the way it points; its arrows grow bolder while the mango is in reach. A bubble lifts the mango until you tap it to pop. A dashed ring throws a fresh vine onto a mango that passes through it, and that new vine can be cut like any other. Thorns burst the mango. With keys, A and S puff the pods from left to right and Space pops a bubble.

Strategy

Cut at the end of a swing

A swinging mango is slowest at the far end of its arc, so a cut there drops it almost straight down. A cut near the bottom of the swing flings it sideways instead. Watch one full swing first and decide which of the two the monkey needs.

Fireflies first, then the monkey

Each firefly the mango touches lights one of the three stars, and the quickest way to the monkey often skips one. Let a bubble rise a little higher, wait for one more swing, or pump a swing with an extra puff. If you miss a star, Replay the level now or pick it again later from the level list.

About the game

A jungle take on rope cutting

Cutting ropes to deliver a sweet to a hungry creature is the idea behind Cut the Rope, the physics puzzle ZeptoLab released in October 2010. Vine Cut is our own version for this jungle: a mango, a capuchin with an appetite, fireflies for stars and 24 levels that grow from a single snip to a finale using every piece at once.
